Our Story

For decades, in neonatology units, it has been observed that dorsal tactile stimulation triggers breathing in premature babies. This technique has been used by nurses to revive babies, as it has been shown to stimulate their breathing.

Recognizing the potential of this technique, Dr. Paulina Toso, a neonatologist from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and an expert in managing premature apneas, teamed up with María Jesús Álvarez, a designer also from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, to create Pimun, a  company in the making aiming to leverage this innovative solution.
